In the old town of Gueret (35 km away) there are many beautiful old streets. Around the main square there are several cozy restaurants, where you can enjoy a nice drink after a walk through this place. There is also plenty to see and do in the vicinity of this place. For example, the Monts de Guéret animal park is nice to visit. This wolf sanctuary is located on top of a hill and here you can see these beautiful animals. The nearby Labyrinthe Géant des Monts de Guéret is also worth a visit. As the name suggests, this is a huge labyrinth, which can easily be combined with a visit to the wolf park.

The valley of the painters

Claude Monet, Armand Guillaumin, Francis Picabia and others immortalized in their impressionist works the landscapes of the confluence of the two rivers Creuse, the banks of the Sedelle, the ancient fortress of Crozant and the light, the rocks and the moors of this valley. Hundreds of artists set up their easels in the heart of this unspoiled and wild nature, on the steep paths of this valley, as our contemporary artists continue to do, in their footsteps. You can do the same by following in their footsteps, with your discovery booklet in hand, and the Signposted route, a short loop marked with bookmarks in honor of Claude Monet's work.

The Vélorail de la Mine, an original adventure!

Experience a unique moment in the middle of nature 6 km from Bourganeuf. A 10 km round trip between Bosmoreau and Bourganeuf, along the Thaurion valley, will allow you to discover unspoiled nature, with a bison farm in the middle of a green landscape. Duration of the route: 1.5 hours. Snack bar and picnic table available. There is a bar and a shop on site. Nearby: to complete your visit, you can visit the mining museum.

Oradour-sur-Glane

The massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane. There are places you can't go past. Places you can't forget. Places that, because of their history, absolutely must be visited. So is Oradour-sur-Glane. This village in the Limousin was massacred on June 10, 1944 by a unit of the SS division Das Reich.
